Huey saw 'em comin'.

This weekend (15th/16th) the nation's best surfers are due to collide causing cataclysmic devastation on the beaches of Saltburn. YOWZERS!! Barrels so deep your teeth itch. OOPH!! The spray from the severity of the hackage manifesting itself as rainfall for weeks to come. If you're expecting a dry May prepare to be bitterly disappointed – umbrellas at the ready.

... Oh but hang on.

The swell is actually so non-existent between 6am and midday on Sunday that MagicSeaweed broke!

On a more serious note, I'd be interested to know why, out of all the surfers I know – mainly from the Scarborough area so not a million miles away – NOBODY knew until Tuesday (11th) that the event was even taking place. Maybe a little investment into advertising the event would help the Saltburn leg reach the same or similar levels of popularity/succes as it has up in Tynemouth in recent years. That and some swell!!

Fingers crossed for Saltburn (and all those that travelled from Kernow, Devon, Wales, Scotland, Ireland etc) that Ma Nature delivers something contestable at least.

Good luck one and all. x
