Last weekend...

... we headed north to explore...

... we laughed at this ...

... we sought shelter as a big old mutha of a northerly swell, backed by a big old mutha of a northerly wind was getting ready to going fully-pumped. Options were limited.

... but it was fun exploring...

... and we found some REAL potential...

... people live on the beach up here...

... some meet their maker...

... some have bigger gaffs than others...

... but they all have boats ...

... lots of boats ...

... the sun bothered to expose itself ...

... we had our peepers on the tides...

... you shoulda heard the noise it made ...

... we drank some of this, and it was goooood ...

... but by now the bastard swell/wind combo had gone über-spaz on all exposed (and some of the not so exposed) beaches and reefs. It doesn't look it here, but it was a real doozey! ...

... but I still managed to get the ubiquitous typical-surfy-low-sun-grassy-lens-flair shot ...

... the set-up, time to camp it up ...

... getting zapped by the wide ones ...

... and it all ended here with a crowded one as the mongo-swell began it's demise.

  3. Hey no probs Danny, mum's the word. My surfari amigo and I (just the two of us + lady amigos) do the search the old-fashioned way – a combination of OS maps, surf-spot guidebooks and what little info we can glean from any local sea-dogs we happen upon, and if we score we certainly don't shout it from the roof tops.

I always try to keep the photos fairly ambiguous too, well, if it isn't a blown spot already that is – certainly no names anyway.

I've always stated that if anybody has beef with the content to give me a shout and rectified-it-shall-be.

A rather elaborate response aye? Sorry to garble.

  4. Hi, good to bump in to you on this weekend in my yellow van and I like the blog despite being gutted to see I missed the goods on Sunday. I ended up going South to the usual low tide left which was overhead and got ok as the wind dropped but nothing special. Would have phoned but lost your number. Are you on facebook and or do you have an email? Looking forward to the next trip. Take it easy Will
