October 13-15th 2011 sees the inaugural London Surf Film Festival hit the UK, a prestige event showcasing international surfing’s best feature films, documentaries, independents and cult classics as well as the pick of the short film productions from Britain’s leading surf filmmakers.
The London Surf Short Film Competition is a key part of the festival and open exclusively to surf filmmakers from or based in Britain and Ireland. It’s a chance for home grown talent to flex their creative muscles and an opportunity for the best to be screened alongside work from some of waveriding’s cinematic legends.
From 25th March 2011, filmmakers from or based in Britain and Ireland are invited to submit their entries for the London Surf Short Film Competition. Surfing and surf culture are wide open to interpretation and we welcome submissions that explore all aspects of waveriding across a rich and creative spectrum.
To be considered for selection, the shorts, running up to five minutes in length, must have been created after March 2009. Submissions will be open until July 25th 2011.
