New ride

I'm so looking forward to picking this cheeky little bastard up from Steve at Empire in a week or so, fresh from the sanding bay, all dusty and new smelling, and just in time for summer. Oooooh new boards!

Brrrrrr ... I just got a shudder of excitement.

Short & fat

I've been noodling about in deepest Kernow this last weekend, and aside from withering away under the glorious sunshine, I dropped in to see Steve Croft at Empire to see where we're at with my new board, and it's looking trés bon thanks! It's good to get a shaped blank under your arm before it's glassed, just to get a feel for it, and the feel I get from this little beggar is that it's gonna be fast. VERY fast. It's certainly got more foam in it than I'm used to, but that's exactly what I wanted. In fact, it's pretty much exactly what I wanted, which is testament to Steve's skills in getting the information he needs, over the phone, in order to sculpt your new jalopy. Good work.

Grey is the nooo white!

After an absolute age of indecisive deliberation (sorry again Steve) I've decided that the all-white board is definitely not the go, not for me anyway, not on my new board. No. And neither is the 'revivalist' Sea Surfboards-style stripyness – beautiful as they are. I'm also not going down the maximalist 'there's-a-lot-going-on-cause-I'm-a-pro' style of doing things, I'll let these boys do all of that.

Nope, I'm going grey. All grey. Dark grey. And it will be good. I'm committed and I eagerly await the arrival of 'The Bismarck'. All five feet eight inches of her.

Noo sled

It's new board time at Numb-skulls. Steve Croft at Empire is the sculptor, and it's already looking soopa-nice. Short/wide/fast + loose was the brief, and I think we may have created a real doozey! Steve's already posted a few pics on his blog, and I've gotta say, I'm really loving that double-wing to round-tail—yeah, I'm guessing she'll have some squirt!! Oh and it's a five-fin-configuration. (so mainly quad, but with thruster potential).

'Excited' is the word.
